After you receive your offer letter and show proof of sufficient funds, the next steps for a New Zealand student visa are:

- Gather required documents: valid passport, offer letter, tuition payment proof, evidence of at least NZD 20,000/year for living expenses, medical and travel insurance, return ticket or funds for one, and police/medical certificates if required.
- Apply online through Immigration New Zealand. The typical visa application fee is NZD 850 (subject to change), and processing can take up to 8 weeks.
- Track your application status online and respond quickly if more information is requested.
- Once approved, you’ll receive an eVisa.

It's best to apply at least 8 - 12 weeks before your course starts to avoid delays.

If you need help with your application, please contact your LeapScholar counsellor.
