What is the procedure to apply for a passport?
To apply for an Indian passport, follow these steps:
1. Register online at the official Passport Seva website and create a user account. 2. Fill out the application form for a fresh passport or re-issue, choosing either normal or tatkaal (expedited) service. 3. Pay the application fee online and schedule an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office PSK. 4. Attend your appointment with original documents and self-attested photocopies (proof of birth, address, and identity). 5. Complete biometric data collection and attend a police verification at your residence. 6. Once approved, your passport will be dispatched to your registered address.
