You must show clear, accessible proof of funds for a New Zealand student visa. Immigration New Zealand typically accepts:

- Recent bank statements (covering at least 3 months) in your name
- Fixed-term deposit certificates (held for at least 3 months)
- Education loan sanction letters from recognized banks
- Scholarship award letters stating amount and duration
- Provident fund statements if funds are withdrawable

For large or recent deposits, newly opened accounts, or business income, you’ll need to provide extra documentation - such as payslips, tax returns, employer or business registration letters - to prove the money’s genuine source.

PPF (Public Provident Fund) and LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) policies are generally not accepted as direct proof, since they are not readily accessible.
