Working illegally off-campus, exceeding 90 days of OPT unemployment, or dropping below full-time enrollment can all terminate your F-1 status and trigger a three to ten year re-entry ban. Financially, a weakening rupee, rising tuition, and uninsured medical bills are the risks most likely to catch you off guard.
