Yes, from September 2026, the IELTS exam in India will shift to a fully computer-based format. The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections will be taken on a computer, while the Speaking section will remain face-to-face with an examiner.

The last paper-based IELTS tests will be held on July 25, August 6, and August 22, 2026. After these dates, only the computer-based option will be available.

The exam structure, question types, and scoring will not change - only the delivery method is different. This update is subject to change.
