Is IELTS or PTE better for my admission and visa process for a Master's?
IELTS is generally the safer choice for Canadian Master's admissions and the visa process, as it is more widely accepted by universities and offers features like the "One Skill Retake" if you need to improve a specific section.
- Both IELTS and PTE Academic are accepted for admission and the Canadian study visa.
- Most universities and the visa process require a minimum of IELTS 6.0 in each band or PTE Academic 50 in each section (subject to change).
- IELTS is often preferred by some institutions and may provide more flexibility if you need to retake a section.
If you have a strong preference or comfort with one test format, discuss it with your LeapScholar counsellor to make the best choice for your situation.
