I haven't yet finished 7 semesters of my 4 year bachelor's, so I believe I'm exempt from the mandatory dMAT test for APS. Is that exemption correct in my case?

Yes, your exemption is correct. Bachelor's students in a 4 year degree with fewer than 7 completed semesters are temporarily exempt from the mandatory dMAT for APS. This applies to Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance, or Economics fields. The exemption ends once you clear semester 7 or graduate.
