If I travel abroad for studies, will my family be able to come with me in New Zealand for a PhD?

Yes, your family can accompany you to New Zealand while you study, but the options depend on your course and their relationship to you.

- Partner: Can apply for a visitor visa (no work rights). If you study a Level 7/8 Green List course or Level 9/10 (Master’s/PhD), your partner may be eligible for a work visa.
- Dependent children: Can apply for a visitor visa (up to 3 months of school) or a student visa (for longer studies as domestic students).

You must show proof of relationship and sufficient funds to support your family. Visa rules and requirements are subject to change.
