If I choose private colleges instead of universities, will it have the same impact on my post-study work permit and career in New Zealand?

It depends. You can be eligible for a New Zealand post-study work visa (PSW) if you complete a Level 7 or higher qualification from an NZQA-approved private college, just as you would from a university.

However, employers often value degrees from recognized universities more highly than those from private colleges, which can affect your career prospects and salary potential. Some private colleges do offer strong industry links and practical training, but recognition varies.

If you are considering a private college, make sure the qualification is NZQA-approved and relevant to your career goals.
