The IELTS exam is moderately challenging, but most candidates find it manageable with proper preparation. It assesses your English skills in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, each scored on a 0 - 9 band scale.

- Listening: 4 recordings, 40 questions, about 30 minutes.
- Reading: 3 passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes.
- Writing: 2 tasks (describing data and essay), assessed on clarity, vocabulary, and grammar.
- Speaking: 11 - 14 minute interview, judged on fluency, coherence, and pronunciation.

The overall band score is the average of the four sections, rounded to the nearest half band. Standards and scoring are subject to change, but the format remains consistent. With focused practice and familiarity with the test structure, you can improve your performance.
