How much funds do I need to show for visa application, and is showing funds for one day sufficient?
You must show proof of sufficient funds to cover at least one year of tuition, living expenses, and related costs for your U.S. student visa (F-1) application. The required amount depends on your university and city, but typically includes:
- Tuition and fees: $10,000 - $60,000/year
- Living expenses: $10,000 - $20,000/year
- Health insurance: $1,000 - $3,000/year
- Books and supplies: $1,000 - $2,000/year
Showing funds for just one day is not sufficient. U.S. consular officers generally expect to see three to six months of consistent bank statements to confirm your financial stability.
