How much financial proof do I need to show for a two year course in New Zealand?
You must show proof of funds covering your first year’s tuition, living expenses, and return travel for a two-year Master’s in New Zealand.
- Tuition fees: Evidence for the full first year’s tuition (e.g., bank statement, education loan, or scholarship letter).
- Living expenses: NZD $20,000/year (bank statements, fixed deposits, or loan documents).
- Outward travel: Proof of a prepaid return ticket or funds (around NZD $2,000).
For example, if tuition is NZD $30,000/year, you need to show at least NZD $52,000 for the first year (tuition + living + travel). Having a credible plan for the second year’s expenses is strongly advised. Financial requirements are subject to change.
