Swedish universities typically offer two bachelor level courses. The University Diploma, called Hogskoleexamen, is a 2-year course of 120 higher education credits. The Degree of Bachelor, called Kandidatexamen, is a 3-year course of 180 credits. Check each university for its current offerings.

Sweden typically offers two kinds of courses at bachelor level: a university diploma and a bachelor degree. The main differences are their length and the number of higher education credits.

Universitet and Hogskola

Sweden has two types of institutions. The Universitet are research oriented and offer bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees. The Hogskolor are specialised institutions offering applied sciences courses with limited rights to offer doctoral degrees, although older specialised engineering and medicine institutions also call themselves Hogskolor.

My Advice

Choose a course based on your goal. A 3-year bachelor degree is the usual route to further study, so check each university page for the exact structure and entry rules.
