Yes, you are on the right track with your GRE preparation. The GRE exam pattern has changed, so it’s important to follow the latest format for the best results.

Current GRE Exam Pattern (2026):

- Analytical Writing: 1 section, 1 task ("Analyze an Issue"), 30 minutes
- Verbal Reasoning: 2 sections - 12 questions (18 minutes) and 15 questions (23 minutes)
- Quantitative Reasoning: 2 sections - 12 questions (21 minutes) and 15 questions (26 minutes)

Total test duration is about 1 hour 58 minutes.

With your Data Science background, focus on time management for Quantitative Reasoning and expand your vocabulary for Verbal Reasoning. Practice with official GRE materials and take full-length mock tests to identify improvement areas.
