Most competitive MBA programs expect candidates with several years of steadily increasing responsibility, not just years on a payroll. At 3 years, you may meet the minimum listed requirement at some schools, but you are unlikely to have the breadth of leadership stories that make an MBA application genuinely competitive against candidates with 5 or more years.

What matters to admissions is a coherent story: bachelor's, then the gap, then work experience, then the postgraduate step, with a clear line to your intended career, rather than the length of the gap itself.

My Advice

Do not choose between the two based on the post-study visa alone. In my experience, the course's career relevance and your ability to explain the gap and your 3 years clearly matter far more to admissions committees than whether the transcript says MSc or MBA.
