• Indian recognition is separate again: a foreign LLM is not the same as recognition of your degree for enrolment purposes with the Bar Council of India.

My Advice

Go into your LLM applications with the specific field decided, such as international arbitration, competition law or financial regulation, rather than a general LLM, since a targeted degree does more for a practising lawyer's career than a generalist one. If a specific jurisdiction's professional body tells you a GDL-style conversion is mandatory for that particular route, treat that as the exception, not the default choice for someone in your position.
