• Check the prerequisites first: some programmes assume prior calculus, statistics or programming, while others teach coding from the ground up, so confirm this before applying.

My Advice

If you genuinely enjoy hands-on diagnostic testing and want to stay closest to patient care, do not let the data science trend talk you out of Laboratory Medicine, since licensing and registration rules for lab professions are country specific and worth checking before you commit to a destination. If you are unsure between the three, Health Data Science is the safer backup because its skills transfer even if you later decide healthcare data was not your calling, whereas a narrow diagnostics qualification is harder to repurpose outside clinical labs.
