Auckland University of Technology offers a comparable MPH with entry pathways for relevant health qualifications.

Master of Health Sciences for Research and a Possible PhD

Also offered by the University of Auckland and separately by the University of Canterbury, this route accepts relevant health backgrounds including dentistry and is built around health services, systems and research rather than clinical practice, so it suits someone who may pursue a PhD later.

Staying Clinical: What to Check Before You Commit

• Registration requirements: the New Zealand Dental Council's rules for whether your BDS allows direct entry into advanced dental study.
• Programme type: the University of Otago's postgraduate dentistry pathways, including the Master of Community Dentistry, versus specialist clinical doctoral routes.

My Advice
