A Practical Month-by-Month Plan for September 2027

• Sep to Nov 2026: IELTS coaching plus a diagnostic test.
• Dec 2026 to Feb 2027: first IELTS attempt.
• Feb to Mar 2027: retake if needed, and finalise your university shortlist.
• Mar to May 2027: submit applications with SOP, LORs, and financial documents.
• Apr to May 2027: collect offer letters, confirm your financial documentation, and begin visa paperwork so nothing is rushed in the final weeks before departure.

My Advice

Do not lock into January 2027 just because it feels sooner. UCAS, for instance, advises international postgraduate applicants targeting a September or October start to apply at least six months ahead, around March, which lines up naturally with the extra runway a September intake gives you here.
