It depends on the diploma level.

- Diploma Level 7 or above: Your spouse may be eligible for a Partner of a Student Work Visa, which allows them to work full-time in New Zealand, but only if your course is on the Green List or leads to a post-study work visa (PSW).
- Diploma below Level 7: Your spouse can usually only apply for a Partner of a Student Visitor Visa, which does not allow them to work.
