Can you explain what each IELTS Reading question type tests so I can prepare properly?
IELTS Reading typically includes matching information, headings and features, sentence matching, multiple choice, true/false/not given or yes/no/not given, diagram labelling, flow-chart and table completion, and short answers. Each tests skills like locating details, spotting main ideas and recognising opinions. Check the official IELTS page for current formats.
IELTS Reading mixes several question types, and each one tests a different skill. Knowing what each tests helps you choose the right strategy.

- Identify the author's views in multiple choice and statement questions.
- Paraphrase vocabulary from the question when you search the passage.
My Advice
Practise each type separately first, then in full timed sets, and note which type costs you the most time. Confirm the current question types and word limits on the official IELTS website.
