Can I realistically prepare for my IELTS in 15 days, and how should I plan it?
Two weeks is short, but a solid plan can help. Learn the test format, study around 2 to 3 hours daily across Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, rotate topics, prepare ideas for common Writing Task 2 themes, and take timed full-length practice tests.
You can still aim for a decent IELTS score in 15 days if you follow a clear plan. Understand the test format first, then give time to all four sections.
A 15-Day Plan in Outline
| Area | What to do |
|---|---|
| Learn the format | Understand the IELTS test format and build a study plan for the two weeks |
| Daily study | Around 2 to 3 hours a day is usually enough |
| All four parts | Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, changing the subject each day to avoid boredom |
| Writing Task 2 | Main topics such as pollution, technology or children's education come up again and again, so prepare ideas |
| Practice tests | After covering each section, take full-length practice tests with proper timing |
Section Tips
- Prepare for Listening by practising with audio recordings.
- Reading and Listening questions very rarely repeat.
- Do as much timed practice as you can.
My Advice
Take a full practice test on day one to see where you stand, then spend extra time on your weakest section. Check the official IELTS website for the latest format.
