Yes, both PTE Academic and the Duolingo English Test can replace IELTS for a masters application, depending on your target university. PTE is widely accepted across UK, Canadian and Australian visas, while Duolingo is strongest in the USA and more restricted for other visas.

The Duolingo English Test is accepted by over 6,000 institutions worldwide. The USA, Canada, Ireland, the UK and New Zealand accept it for both admission and student visas. Australia is the exception, where visa rules are strict and often need IELTS or PTE. Competitive courses usually want higher scores.

For an MBA abroad you should take the GMAT or the GRE, since both are widely accepted worldwide and admissions committees have no strong preference between them. The CAT is designed for Indian IIMs and rarely accepted overseas. You will also need an English test like IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.

No country as a whole waives IELTS requirements - individual universities in the UK and Australia grant IELTS exemptions based on your nationality, whether you studied in English medium, or if you submit alternative scores like PTE, Duolingo, or TOEFL instead of IELTS.
