Are there any issues with having a gap in my academic history when applying abroad in France/Austria for a Master's?

It depends. Having a gap in your academic history is not automatically a problem for master's applications in Austria or France.

Admissions committees in both countries look at how you used your gap period. If you spent that time on work experience, internships, volunteering, or skill development, and you can clearly explain its relevance to your academic and career goals, it can even strengthen your application.

Be transparent in your Statement of Purpose about the gap and provide any supporting documents that show how it helped prepare you for your master's studies.
