After MBBS, can one practice or do further studies in India without additional exams?
Yes, after completing your MBBS in India, you can practice medicine without additional exams if you:
- Complete the one-year compulsory internship included in your MBBS program.
- Obtain permanent registration with the State Medical Council or National Medical Commission (NMC).
You are then legally permitted to practice medicine in India.
For postgraduate studies (MD, MS, or PG Diploma), you must clear the NEET PG exam. Admissions to top institutes like AIIMS or JIPMER require the INI-CET exam, held twice a year.
