On the New Paltz campus, there are 14 residence halls. This gives students the choice of living in a variety of settings, such as corridor or suite-style housing, or special interest group housing.
Every residence hall is coed. A washing room, computer terminals, a primary meeting space for hall government meetings and activities, and a study lounge are among the student-oriented amenities and services available in each resident hall. Each hall also features at least one television lounge, a kitchenette space, and a microwave that is available to all residents.
Parker Complex, Hasbrouck Complex, and South Complex are the three residence life complexes on the New Paltz campus.
Capen Hall, Bliss Hall, Bouton Hall, Gage Hall, Scudder Hall, and Shango/College Hall are the six residence halls that make up the Parker Complex. All of the residence halls are classic corridor layouts, with a restroom used by all of the floor's inhabitants. A common hallway connects rooms with an entrance and exit. Each room has a telephone, internet, and cable television connection.
Capen Hall is a residence hall and the Department of Residence Life's administrative offices within the Parker complex. The Parker complex is made up of classic corridor-style halls with a restroom that is shared by all inhabitants of the floor or house and is kept clean by the Custodial Staff. Students who live in corridor-style buildings have a lot of engagement and activity with their housemates. On each of the floors, there are lounges. Two laundry facilities with washers and dryers, a bike rack, a computer lab, a recycling room, and the offices for the Residence Hall Student Association and National Residence Hall Honorary are all located in the basement of Capen Hall. On the first level, there is a large study lounge, the Department of Residence Life, vending machines, and a microwave oven. T.V. lounges are located on the second and third floors, and each floor contains a kitchenette. Capen Hall provides a convenient campus location and resources for physically challenged students to its diverse student community.

Vending machines and a microwave oven are located on the first floor. On the first and third floors, there are television lounges. Bliss Hall is a co-educational residence hall with a diverse student body. Residents and staff collaborate to build community and traditions. Residents at Bliss Hall are encouraged to share and create mutual interests and aspirations. The theatres, Health Center, campus gym, track, and tennis courts are all within walking distance of Bliss Hall.

Students who live in corridor-style buildings have a lot of engagement and activity with their housemates. On each of the floors, there are lounges. A laundry room with washers and dryers, a study area with computers, and a recycling room are all located in Bouton Hall's basement. Vending machines, a microwave oven, two side lounges, and one main study lounge are all located on the first floor. T.V. lounges and culinary facilities are located on the second and third floors, respectively. Bouton Hall, the second-largest residence hall on campus, is a place where diversity and respect are not only respected but expected. Most academic buildings, as well as the Administration and Student Union Buildings, are all within walking distance of Bouton Hall.
Note: Eugene Bouton, the first principal of the State Normal School in New Paltz, died in 1951 at the age of 100, and the hall is named after him.

Students who live in corridor-style buildings have a lot of engagement and activity with their housemates.
On each of the floors, there are lounges. Two laundry rooms with washers and dryers, a T.V. lounge, and a garbage/recycling room are all located in the basement of Gage Hall. There is one large study lounge on the first floor, as well as vending machines, a microwave oven, and two tiny study lounges. T.V. lounges may be found on the second and third floors. The basement, second, and third floors all have cooking facilities. On the third floor, there is also a computer lab with 10 machines. Gage Hall, the largest residence hall on campus, is noted for its diverse inhabitants' active participation in Hall Government and many aspects of school life. The Health Center, Elting Gymnasium, and outdoor tennis courts are all within walking distance of Gage Hall. Gage is also a ten-month hall that is available during all scheduled vacations (unless otherwise specified by the Director of Residence Life) to allow students who require housing to stay on campus when other halls are closed. To stay over breaks, you must live in ten-month housing.
Note: Kitty Augusta Gage, a teacher of classical and modern languages at New Paltz Normal School from 1886 until her retirement in 1913, was honoured with the name Gage Hall. Kitty Gage was well-known for her wit, brilliance, enthusiasm, and, most importantly, her giving to students.

Traditional corridor-style halls with a restroom used by all inhabitants of the floor, which is maintained daily by the Custodial Staff, make up the Parker complex buildings. Students who live in corridor-style buildings benefit from a lot of activity and engagement with their peers.
On each of the floors, there are lounges with microwave ovens. Two laundry rooms with washers and dryers, as well as a garbage/recycling area, are located in the basement of Scudder Hall. Vending machines may be found on the first floor in the main lounge. Televisions are available in the lounges on the first, second, and third floors. On the third floor, there is a kitchen, and in the basement, there is a computer lab with five PCs. The Health Center, Athletic and Wellness Center, and outdoor tennis courts are all within walking distance of Scudder Hall.
Note: Scudder Hall is named after Myron Tracy Scudder, New Paltz Normal's third principal from 1899 to 1908. Scudder established the New Paltz intercollegiate athletic programme, as well as the practice of inviting international students.

Students who live in corridor-style buildings participate in a variety of activities and interactions with their housemates. On the basement level, there are lounges. College Hall, which was the first residence hall on campus, is noted for its unique construction and traditions, as well as the fact that it houses a varied student population. A study lounge with a computer lounge and a kitchen with a lounge space is located in the basement of College Hall. Small laundry facilities with washers and dryers, as well as a recycling area and a microwave oven, are located on the first and second levels, respectively. On the first floor, there are also vending machines. College Hall has a close-knit community and is conveniently located near academic institutions. Through in-hall programming and development, the hall's small, diversified population provides opportunities for growth and experiences. College Hall is the village's nearest hall, located five minutes from Main Street New Paltz.

Students who live in corridor-style buildings have a lot of engagement and activity with their housemates. On the basement level, there are lounges. Shango Hall, the first residence hall on campus, is noted for its distinctive architecture and traditions of sheltering a diverse student population. A study area with a computer lounge, one T.V., and one T.V. are all located in the basement of Shango Hall. V. lounges, as well as a kitchen. Small laundry facilities with washers and dryers are placed on the first and second levels, and the kitchen includes a recycling station and microwave oven. On the first floor, there are also vending machines. Shango has a well-knit neighbourhood and is close to academic buildings. Through in-hall programming and development, the hall's small, diversified population provides opportunities for growth and experiences. Between Shango and College Hall is College Hall (The Music Building), which is the academic component of Shango/College Hall.
The offices, practice studios, and clinics for the Music and Music Therapy departments are located in this section of the building. The Max and Nadia Sheppard Recital Hall is located in the heart of the Music Building's first floor. Shango Hall is the village's nearest hall, located five minutes from Main Street New Paltz. The Scholar's Mentorship Program (SMP), a networking program aimed at enhancing the academic careers and social experiences of general admission students of colour during their college years, is also housed in Shango, next to the Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Educational Center.
Note: Originally known as the College Union, College Hall functioned as the campus's social and cultural hub. There were various lounges and dining areas in the building. Leisure activities were aided by a music room, reading room, mail room, and snack bar. The Music and Music Therapy departments, as well as the Honors Center, are now housed in the College Hall (Music Building).
