  • Okanagan College was founded in 1906 at Summerland to become the first college to be opened in B.C. In 1995, the college’s name changed to Okanagan University College or OUC. 
  • However, the older name returned in 2005 when Okanagan University College got divided into two parts - OC (Okanagan College) and UBC (University of British Columbia). The Okanagan College – Revelstoke centre is one of this institute’s three centres. 
  • There are some specific programs that come to Okanagan College – Revelstoke centre rotationally. Some of these include Education Assistant Certificate, Health Care Assistant Certificate, Trades and Apprenticeships, Basic Accounting Certificate.
  •  This institute extends a number of services for students - Aboriginal Services, Education Advising, Counselling Services, and Accessibility Services. Besides these, there are a number of services available for program participants.
  •  These include English tutoring from September to May, Weekly English practice groups (childminding available), Orientation sessions and workshops, etc. Live-in caregivers, refugees, permanent residents, individuals chosen to become permanent residents, and individuals on temporary work permits can use these services.
  •  A number of awards are available for eligible part-time or full-time students of this college pursuing degree programs, certificate programs and diploma programs. Students attending this institute have several different housing options available for themselves. 
  • Students with their ages below 18 years have to stay with one of the institute’s approved host families until they turn 18. Individuals having 18 years of age or more can choose from Private Rental, Student Housing and the Homestay program. Established in 1988, OCAA or Okanagan College Alumni Association is a non-profit organization involved in connecting Okanagan College alumni with the institute and with each other.
