The Master of Science in Data Science (MScDS) is a typically two-year program designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge, techniques, and practical experience in data science research and application. It aims to prepare students to become researchers and leaders in this emerging field at regional, national, and global levels. The program offers flexibility with either a research-oriented track via a Graduate Thesis or an application-oriented approach through a Graduate Project. Regardless of the chosen path, graduates will develop strong skills in data analytics, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal areas, preparing them for roles in big data and research advancement.
Why this course is highly recommended
There is a high demand for professionals with data analytics skills, especially as the shortage of data literate managers and analysts grows. The program prepares students for promising roles in various sectors such as software development, healthcare, government policy-making, and social networks. With the increasing need for expertise in data science, graduates are well-positioned to fill critical roles in both private and public organizations.
While the program can be tailored to either research or application, it focuses on providing solid expertise in data science, including data analytics, and equips students with skills in statistics, computing science, mathematics, and engineering areas relevant to data-driven fields.
