Diploma in Civil Engineering Technician, Seneca Polytechnic

This two-year diploma program prepares students for a career as a civil engineering technician. It covers fundamentals such as computer drafting, municipal and building practices, material testing, and field surveying. The program emphasizes practical, hands-on experiential learning through indoor and outdoor labs, requiring students to use industry health & safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE). Students may need to handle heavy lifting and navigate outdoor terrain, gaining real-world experience in the field. The program is accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC). Upon completing the first year, students have the option to transfer to the Civil Engineering Technology program if they achieve a grade of C or better in Strength of Materials.
