I usually take long walks whenever I have leisure time with me however if I have to explain one long walk that I enjoyed the most that would be a trail to Valley of Flowers. So it is a trail that you get when you are passing through the jungles of Kasol and it is famously known as the Valley of Flowers the reason being it has around 101 variety of flowers throughout the trek that you get into and the trek is for about 21 to 22 kilometers and throughout that trek you you get to see a lot of variety of flora and fauna. The fauna is quite low in that area however the flora is something majestic you might not have visited any trek like that and I went there with my friends and a travel guide. We took a bus from Delhi to Kasol and within a day we reached there we kept our luggage there we booked a tent where we stayed for the night and the trek started 8 a.m. in the morning and it was completed after one and a half days so we completed it around 2 at night on the next day and if I have to explain the trek I thought it was so beautiful, green, peaceful and I would recommend that 100% to anyone who is very adventurous but at the same time who loves to walk in a garden full of flowers and who would want to try something new apart from just a regular trek so any adventurous person who is into these kind of things in the treks and everything I would recommend that 100%

During 2018, I was working as a chef in the outskirts of town in a luxurious hotel. So me and my friend, after all our work was getting over and we were about to reach our home, we did not have any vehicle back then. So we generally preferred walking from the hotel to our accommodation. We were staying in one of the female PG's around the town, outskirts of the town. So every day after 5 pm, around 5.30 ish, we used to walk from there. And it's like 15 to 20 minutes of our walk. And whenever we were walking, we used to talk about a lot of things, like what was happening in the hotel and what happened. We were just talking, exchanging our memories of our old friends. We also talked about our family issues, what we feel about it. Sometimes we do even talk about the time when we were very happy. Right now, I have left the job. And now I'm moved out of that town also. I'm no longer staying connected with my friend. And I just cherish this memory whenever I think about the long walk. Because it was not even the chef job that I was doing, but it was a friendship that I shared with my friend that actually made me very happier to be there. And she was my support system and she was my go-to person to talk about things. So this was one instance that happened in my middle age, around 25. And now it's pretty staying as a memory.

Follow up questions

How did that long walk impact your friendship with your colleague?
The long walks really strengthened our bond. We shared personal stories and supported each other through tough times. It was during those moments that we built trust and understanding, which made our friendship special and memorable.

What do you miss most about those walks?
I miss the deep conversations we had and the sense of freedom that came with walking. It was a time to unwind after work, and I cherished the laughter and shared experiences. Those walks were not just about getting home; they were about connecting.

Have you taken any long walks since then? How were they different?
Since then, I have taken a few long walks, but they felt different. I often walk alone now, which is peaceful but lacks the companionship I had with my friend. The conversations and shared moments are what made those walks truly special.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Few months ago, I took a long walk from my cousin's medical college to our favorite cafe at the evening time. We had that walk for nearly 2 km and it was in the evening so it was very rushed. The people, the vehicles on the road, it was very time consuming. Moreover, my cousin walks a bit fast and my pace is a little bit slow and it was hard to catch up with her. Furthermore, it was the last walk I had. In the month of September, me and my cousin who works as an intern in medical college had a walk from her college to the nearby cafe which is located at most 2 km further from the college. We had this walk on the evening of that day. It was really exhausting walk because I was not prepared to have that long walk on that day especially on that day because I was on my periods. Moreover, my cousin walks a little bit fast and my pace is a little bit slow and it was hard for me to catch up with her while walking and the roads were very crowded. We had to pass a main road along the way. So, the main road was a bit crowded with all the vehicles and all. Actually, furthermore, it was not on our plan on that day to take that walk to go to that cafe but we planned it instantly and we took that walk from college to the cafe. Moreover, we bonded during that walk. We talked about our colleges, our studies, our education and everything about our family and our family problems. When we reached the cafe, we had a nice pastry and we ordered chicken momos but it was not that tasty. Indeed, that was the last long walk I had in the last few days or months.

I like to go on long walks especially when I am just back from my office and I find it very relaxing and calm. Since I'm living alone from last five years so I don't really prefer to going with anyone else during my long walks because I like to listen to music while I am having the walk. However there are a few friends of mine they also catch up with me sometimes but that's very rare. So especially if it's a weekend I try to expand that duration of long walks. Generally when I'm back from my office it's a short half an hour to 45 minutes long walk from my house to the lake that's near to my house. But if it's a weekend that I try to stretch that span to as long as 2 to 2.5 hours. So I should be on a right calorie deficit so that I lose that extra calories. And also I like the fresh air around that place and also I enjoy the scenic views around the lake. That's basically something that draws my attention and motivates me to continue my long walks during that time. So and also having said that walking also has certain health benefits like it decreases your heart rate will lead to a healthier lifestyle in future. So just to counter on those health aspect I find long walks beneficial for one's health. So that's how I like to spend time while I'm on a long walk.

The walk I took was a trek from a place called Vanjangi in Vizag. It's a long trek of 8 km. It starts from a base of a mountain and we have to walk for around 8-9 km and then come back. I went to the trek with my college friends. It was our first college trip. I was just heads over heels when I got to know that we were going on a trip. These opportunities come very rarely like once in a blue moon. After climbing the hill, we had Maggie there. It was tiring, we were exhausted and furthermore, the weather there was amazing. The sunset in the clouds with the fog and everything. The temperatures were around 0-3 degrees which was my first time experiencing cold temperatures and the experience that you get when you are spending time with your friends, getting to know them, taunting each other, that you won't get regularly. I would definitely go back to that place and I would always add it to my bucket list whenever I visit that area.

So I think a walk is one of them and especially if it's long then it can not only provide us with many health benefits but also helps us to utilize our time wisely. I went on a walk with my friend, his name is Atul during COVID times and everything was closed at that time so the roads were clean, there was peace everywhere and streets were very beautiful. Also, it was the time of spring season so the weather was quite pleasant and we went on a long road near my house only. We started walking around 5 pm and we didn't realize that because we had so much to talk about and we had so many things to do like we clicked pictures, we also halted on a nearby road stall to eat some junk food and clicked pictures also and then we had a race competition that who wins first. So it was a very memorable day for me and I felt very happy and there was a feeling of ecstasy in my mind because I had spent a very good time with my friend and we also had time to discuss our problems and he gave me some advices and also I gave him many advices. So, we booked a trekking at Mishapillimala which is one of the highest accessible spot in Kerala and it involves about 5 to 6 km trekking. So, initially we went to the base camp at about 5 o'clock in the morning and we spent a little time there to watch the sunrise. After that, after getting a relaxed and soothing experience, we went on trekking. So, initially we are bit cheered and we are very relaxed and also it is not much a hectic experience. However, after the time goes by and the path which is getting narrower and also increasingly steep. So, we cannot climb the steep with the same passion and energy we had at the beginning.
