Placements

One of the many advantages of studying at the University of Northampton is that many academic programmes provide opportunities for practical work-based learning to supplement your studies. Work-based Learning (WBL) allows you to gain work experience while also earning an award by completing module assessments that reflect on your experience.

Every year, 3,500 students participate in WBL as part of their coursework, with high module pass rates (93 per cent).

Placements, client briefs, internships, and paid employment are all examples of WBL. Professional recognition will be given to some of the work placement programmes. All combined honours students are eligible for optional placement years, which are always funded.

The Changemaker Hub, which is available to all confirmed offer holders, can help you. So, even before you begin your studies at the University of Northampton, you can begin to consider the skills and knowledge you want to focus on to improve your employment prospects. The university does encourage you to discover your own WBL opportunities for some of the courses, but this allows you to put your previous job experience to good use while also improving your employability. You'll be supported by the Changemaker Hub and your course teams, who will make sure you have the correct WBL chances to fit your course's criteria as well as your particular interests.
