Campus Life

On-Campus Accommodation

The residence halls of UAB are all within three city blocks of each other and close to Campus Green, resulting in a close-knit community. There are numerous advantages to living on campus, including the opportunity to establish lifelong friends, access to a built-in support system, and proximity to everything.

Facilities for staying on campus are:

  • You are more connected: When you're on campus, it's much easier to get active and meet friends. You can have lunch with friends at the Hill Student Center or relax in a hammock on the green
  • Birmingham is close to you: Living on campus puts you right in the heart of downtown Birmingham, close to restaurants, the arts and entertainment, and a plethora of volunteer opportunities
  • Restaurants are within walking distance of your residence, and your classes are also within walking distance: You don't have to travel far to find a late-night snack. Plus, walking to class the next day will provide some workouts. Even better, with all the time you save by not commuting to school, you can sleep in later
  • Parking: You won't have to waste time looking for a parking spot with only five minutes to spare before class. You won't have to leave twenty minutes earlier than required to account for parking time
  • Bill payment: For a single, set sum, rent, energy, water, cable, Wi-Fi, and even furniture are all included. It's simple to figure out how much you'll spend
  • Security: At UAB, safety is a primary priority. They have a police team that is accredited and patrols the campus 24 hours a day. On foot and on a bicycle, a supervisor and several officers from the UAB Police Department's special Student Housing Police Precinct patrol the residence halls and parking lots
  • The experience: Each residence hall organises a variety of activities, including ice cream socials, roommate compatibility improv workshops, dodge ball contests, and more. Many people believe that the best advantage of living in student housing is the opportunity to meet all of the other students
