Georgian College was set up in 1967. It is ranked the 98th best university in Canada. With an acceptance rate of 81%, the college displays a lightly selective admission policy. Owen Sound Campus is situated on 15 acres of land on Georgian Bay, right beneath the Niagara Escarpment.
It provides a wide range of courses in business and management, engineering and environmental technologies, health care, hospitality and tourism, liberal arts, and marine studies, among others. Owen Sound also offers on-campus accommodation to students and a safe environment so that the students can learn, grow and develop.
Besides, each residential unit is equipped with laundry, a shared kitchen, a living area, and on-call staff 24*7—other services like parking, food services, computer labs, fitness centres, libraries, etc. are also available. Georgian college-Owen Sound welcomes students from more than 85 countries, speaking 110 languages. The college has an international centre to address international students.
The college houses over 4500 international students. The fact that 6,200 employers partner with Georgian College to offer students work experience, and nearly 90% of the graduates get employed within six months after graduation, reflects the career-centric nature of the postsecondary institution in Canada.
Owen Sound Campus also offers various meeting spaces, videoconferencing and multimedia classrooms, computer labs, and learning spaces for rental year-round.
