  • The University of North Florida, established in 1969, is a public institution located in Jacksonville, Florida. The campus is around 1,318 acres comprising 18 buildings. The university has six colleges offering one year certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, and five doctoral degrees.

Non-citizens and non-permanent residents of the United States are considered for entry in the same way as citizens and permanent residents are. However, due to varying processing requirements and time/distance constraints (particularly for mail), applications and other admission materials should be submitted as soon as feasible. Be advised that most students in the United States apply for university admission a year in advance of their expected start dates.

Transcripts from international high schools and post-secondary institutions

UNF will accept a limited number of international transcripts without a foreign evaluation if they meet the criteria indicated below. According to the Florida Department of Education, all other international transcripts will require a course-by-course evaluation (post-secondary) or a document-by-document GPA calculation examination (high school) by an approved third-party credential evaluation firm.

Proficiency in the English language.

All applicants, with the exception of those from countries where English is the only official language, must provide sufficient evidence of their English proficiency. Please read Indicators of Required English Language Proficiency for Foreign Applicants for a list of possible ways to meet the standards.

Scores from official tests.

Students must submit test scores for the level of study they intend to pursue: undergraduate or graduate.

Undergraduate

  • Any student applying for admission to UNF as a freshman or sophomore must take one of these common college entrance examinations, the ACT or SAT (with less than 60 college-level credit hours). The required test score is decided by the grade point average in high school.
  • SAT - All students must achieve a minimum score of 460 Critical Reading and 460 Math on the SAT.
  • rSAT - All students must score 500 in Evidence-based Reading and Writing and 500 in Math on the rSAT.
  • ACT - All students must score 18 in the English component, 19 in the Reading subsection, and 19 in the Math portion on the ACT.

Graduate

Graduate students will need to submit GMAT or GRE scores, depending on the graduate programme to which they are applying. GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) (Graduate Management Admission Test). The verbal component of the GMAT must be at least 20 and the quantitative component must be at least 22. All Master of Accountancy and Master of Business Administration applicants must have a minimum score of 500.

GRE is a Greek word that means "to (Graduate Record Exam). For any graduate degree other than Business or Health Administration, scores must be provided. Minimum criteria vary by department, with scores of above 1000 (verbal and quantitative components combined) being the most competitive.

On-Campus Accommodation

On-campus housing is available.

  • All students have access to on-campus housing at the university.
  • Intramural sports, outdoor hikes, running, and picnics are all available for official and informal recreation.
  • Osprey Cove, Osprey Crossings, Osprey Fountains, Osprey Hall, Osprey Landing, and Osprey Village are the University's six residence halls.
  • The rooms provide 180 square feet of carpeted living space and wide windows with views of the lake and woodland countryside.
