Admission of University of New England

Students under the age of 18 are not permitted to enrol in any programme. They can, however, attend classes at the English Language Centre. Additionally, before being given a Student Visa, students can appoint a guardian for the duration of their stay in Australia and present corresponding papers. The following are the general requirements for admission to UNE's undergraduate and graduate programmes:

Admissions to the undergraduate programme

Candidates applying to UNE for undergraduate studies must have completed the equivalent of Year 12 in Australia. Indian candidates must possess one or more of the following qualifications:

Grade 12 from CBSE or CISCE

Average 60% in best four subjects in relevant stream, including English (but not a local language), with an overall First Division (60%+)

Grade 12 from State Boards other than Punjab and Haryana

Average 65% in best four subjects in relevant stream, including English (but not a local language), with an overall First Division (60%+)

Grade 12 from State Boards of Punjab and Haryana

Average 70% in best four subjects in relevant stream, including English (but not a local language), with an overall First Division (60%+)

Grade 12 from NIOS

Average 70% in best four subjects in relevant stream, including English (but not a local language), with an overall First Division (60%+)

Post-Grade 10 or 12 three-year VET level Diploma

Overall minimum average of 60% or First Division results


 

Admissions to Postgraduate Programs

Candidates for postgraduate courses must have completed a bachelor's degree or its equivalent, as defined by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It's a good idea to double-check the qualifying requirements for PG programmes because they may have additional requirements that applicants must complete.

The needed English proficiency scores to apply to UNE's undergraduate and graduate programmes are listed below. To be eligible for admission to a programme of their choice, students must complete the prerequisites.
