Laneway International College - Sydney

The procedure by which non-trainee learners gain practical experience in the workplace in order to demonstrate their competency is known as work placement. Learners are not paid for their employment, but they are expected to follow all work standards, such as working hours, wearing a uniform, adhering to work health and safety regulations, and working under the supervision of a sufficiently competent workplace member.

1. Laneway Education (the College) recognises the importance of work placement in contextualising learners' learning experiences.
2. The College recognises that work placement allows for the assessment of a learner's capacity to apply skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
3. Some of the College's courses include mandatory workplace assessments as part of the competency units.
4. The College guarantees that workplace supervisors and other workplace professionals who play a role in the learning and assessment of its learners are consulted and given pertinent information.
5. We also make sure that learners are informed of what is expected of them during their work placement, if one is required as part of their degree.
