Various organisations assign students to on-campus placements. A professional development programme called the Career Accelerate Program (CAP) helps students improve their employability and skills. All FedUni students have access to CAP, a requirement of the Industry Placement Program. According to the 2018 Graduate Outcomes Survey, 89.5 per cent of undergraduates were employed, with 78.3 per cent of Federation University's undergraduates having full-time jobs, which is higher than the 72.9 per cent national average. In the 2018 Employer Satisfaction Survey, the university scored 91 per cent, placing it first among all Australian universities for employability satisfaction. According to reports, most students continue to live and work in the areas where they attended school, boosting the local economy. Graduates from postgraduate programmes work in the regions to 63%.
