Admission of Valencia College - West Campus

Requirements for Applications

 

A high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from the United States - Submit proof that you hold the equivalent of a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma in the United States (GED).

  • Official secondary school transcripts (academic records), graduation certificate, and/or exam results (where applicable) must be submitted in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.
  • Submit official transcripts from all schools attended if you attended college or university. Transcripts from non-US colleges and universities must be evaluated course by course by a professional evaluation company that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

English Proficiency - One of the following requirements must be met to demonstrate English proficiency:

  • Your country of origin is on the list of countries that are exempt from the English proficiency requirement.
  • Official TOEFL score (minimum 45) given to 5869 school code.
  • IELTS official score (minimum score 5.5)
  • Official LOEP result (minimum score 86 – Valencia College offers it)
  • With a grade of C or better, you must pass English Composition or its equivalent (as assessed by Valencia).
  • SAT minimum Writing and Language score of 25 and SAT minimum Reading score of 24 | ACT minimum English score of 17 and Reading score of 19
  • Duolingo English Test (minimum score 75)* is only used for admission and not for placement.

Proof of Finances - For an associate degree, you must provide proof of finances (minimum $23,338) in the form of an associated bank statement in English or a certified English translation. You have the option of having up to three sponsors. More information can be found on the page Tuition Costs.

Passport - A copy of a valid passport is required.

SEVIS Transfer Eligibility, copy of visa, copy of I-94 card, and copies of previous I-20s are required only for F-1 Transfer Students.
