Admission of Tulane University

English Proficiency Requirements

Tulane University requires English language ability for admission. If you are not a native English speaker, you must provide TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or Cambridge C1/C2 scores. For the 2021-2022 application cycle, at-home administrations of these tests will be accepted. On the TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test, successful applicants often score 95+, 6.5+, or 115+. A 600+ on the SAT reading/writing or a 27+ on the ACT English waives the requirement for an English proficiency score for non-native English speakers who prefer to submit SAT or ACT scores.
