Admission of Pratt Institute

Candidates must submit proof of the following eligibility requirements: 

  • Students should submit the results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT 1) or the American College Testing Program if they have taken a test or tests (ACT). 
  • The essay section of the SAT is optional. 
  • The ACT writing test is optional. 
  • Pratt accepts the TOEFL
  • Whether or not you take the SAT or ACT has no bearing on your admissions chances.

 

English Language Proficiency 

 

TOEFL, TOEFL Home Edition, TOEFL ITP Plus, PTE, IELTS, IELTS Indicator, or Duolingo are required for all overseas candidates and students for whom English is a second language. Below is a list of minimum requirements accepted at Pratt.

If students prefer, they can submit their SAT or ACT scores instead of one of the language examinations indicated above (no minimum score requirement). International students with English as their first language can take the SAT or ACT, as well as the TOEFL, TOEFL Home Edition, TOEFL ITP Plus (Mainland China students), IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE. Please have the testing company send official results and familiarise yourself with the international criteria.
