First-Year Student Undergraduate Admission Criteria:

Applicants who are approved before the end of the academic year are accepted on the condition that they complete all academic work and submit a final transcript of grades. 

Applicants who are deemed incapable of making adequate academic progress may be denied admission to Husson or to certain programmes. 

Husson accepts applicants from secondary school graduates and GED recipients, as well as qualified international students, regardless of age, colour, religion, sex, national origin, family income, or physical ability.

Admission Process

To be considered for admission, an applicant should do the following:

  1. Complete and return the application form, available on-line at https://www.husson.edu/admissions/apply/ or www.commonapp.org/school/husson-university.
  2. Submit an official high school transcript or GED scores.
  3. Forward SAT or ACT scores (Optional)
  4. Forward to the Admissions Office official transcript(s) from any college(s) or university(s), which the applicant attended.
  5. A letter of recommendation from guidance counselor, teacher or non-family member.
  6. Submit a 250+ word essay on any topic.


The university provides four residence halls on the main campus in Bangor: Hart Hall, Carlisle Hall, and Bell Hall, as well as the Darling Learning Center and the Townhouses. Hart, Carlisle, and Bell Halls are "typical" residence halls with rooms that can accommodate two to three people, while some rooms may be triples. The Darling Learning Center (DLC) has suite-style residential units that may accommodate up to four individuals. The townhouses, which are the newest living choice, have four bedrooms and two bathrooms per unit, as well as a full kitchen, living room, and washer and dryer. All of the residence halls are within walking distance of Peabody Hall, the major academic building.
