Howard Payne University

Howard Payne University's residential communities offer students a comfortable living environment and a supportive framework for personal development. Students are obliged to live in the residence halls due to our dedication to the residential experience unless they meet one or more of the following exemptions:

• Residents of the Brownwood region who live within a 30-mile radius of HPU.
• I spent four semesters in a residence hall (i.e. fall and spring semesters).
• 60 hours of academic credit at HPU.
• Legally married to a person of the opposite sex and have a marriage license by August 1 (autumn semester) or January 1 (spring semester) (for spring semester).

Students under the age of 17 are not permitted to live on campus.

All students residing on campus must complete a housing application/agreement and pay a housing deposit. Students who qualify for one or more exemptions and want to reside off campus must fill out a Request for Permission to Live Off Campus form.

Incoming students who are 21 years old and/or have spent four semesters in a residence hall have the choice of requesting living in a residence hall or a campus apartment.

A resident food plan is mandatory for all students residing in the residence halls.
