- Fort Myers, Florida, has a private, nonprofit university called Hodges University. Hodges University was founded in 1990 as International College and was renamed in 2007 in honour of a $12 million endowment from residents Earl and Thelma Hodges. Classes and operations were moved to Fort Myers from the Hodges University campus in Naples, Florida, in 2021. Hodges provides several certificate programmes, including associate, bachelor's, master's, and other degree programmes.
- The Dr Peter Thomas Veterans Services Center, the Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning, and the Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Competency are all run by Hodges University. Hodges University has awarded more than 10,000 degrees since its founding in 1990. The university is organized into five colleges: Fisher School of Technology, Johnson School of Business, Nichols School of Professional Studies, School of Health Sciences and School of General Studies

The University of Hodges has a lot to offer; it's a great place to study. Hodges has a diverse campus, and is one of the largest campus in the area. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The professors are some of the best in their fields, and are able to answer questions from an academic point of view without being condescending.
