By supporting intentional opportunities for residents to live, learn, work, and play, the institution pledges to create surroundings that are in line with the Institute's ideas. Students will be motivated to serve as Georgia Tech leaders in society if they are exposed to such environments and activities.
Many study rooms have reopened for resident use, as announced by the Housing & Residence Life Team. As a resident at Georgia Tech, you play an important part in reducing the negative environmental effect of our residence halls in crucial areas like trash, electricity, and water.
Residence Hall Association (RHA)
Provides the opportunity to make a difference on campus. As an official, you'll be able to disburse funds, join committees, advocate for critical topics, and develop as a person.
FLO (First-Year Leadership Organization)
Is a non-profit organisation with strong Georgia Tech departmental ties that aims to improve the Georgia Tech community by offering a one-of-a-kind programme that enhances the first-year experience for its members as well as the entire freshmen class. Emerging Leaders (EL), Suite Up (SUPP), and the First-Year Activities Board (FAB) are all supported by Housing & Residence Life.
The experiences that the students receive are :
First-Year Experience program:
The First-Year Experience Program is a living option that you choose, aimed at assisting first-year residents in establishing a strong personal and academic foundation while living in a varied and inclusive community.
The organic core of the First-year Experience is that the entering class begins to form a strong community by eating together and living in traditional-style residence halls.
Second-Year Experience program:
Housing and Residence Life offers the Second-Year Experience Program, which is a self-selected housing option. Our goal is to assist second-year residents in finding services and resources that are appropriate for their current situation. Students have the opportunity to participate in programming and activities, as well as get "just in time" information about on-campus initiatives that are relevant to second-year students.
Living Learning Communities
Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are a type of academic practice that connects academics with on-campus living. Each Georgia Tech community offers a cohesive experience that encourages cross-community connection between teachers and students, develops student cooperation, improves student GPA, improves campus and civic involvement, increases retention, and makes the academic and social transfer to college easier.
