To be eligible for freshman admission, you must have completed the following courses when you graduated from high school:
English: 4 course units focusing on grammar, composition, and literature in English.
Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and a higher level mathematics course with Algebra II as a requirement.
Natural Sciences: A living or biological science, a physical science, and a laboratory science are included in the three course units.
Two course units in social studies are required, one of which must be US history.
Two course units of a language other than English are required. Both have to be written in the same language (i.e., Spanish 1 & 2). Both American Sign Language and Latin are accepted at ECU.
We strongly advise you to study a foreign language, mathematics, and a natural science course in addition to English during your senior year. These courses will better prepare you for the curriculum of your freshman year.
If you did not meet all of the above minimal course requirements, please read the Transfer Admission Guidelines for information on how to get into ECU.
If you graduated from a Cooperative Innovative High School (Early College), please read the Supplemental Notices for further information on your application possibilities.
