Living on campus allows you to be close to your classes, friends, and all that CSUMB has to offer. The university endeavours to offer you a pleasant setting to thrive in and out of the classroom, from our different housing options to the Living-Learning Programs.

 

Residence Halls

 

Residential Halls are reserved for first-year students and up. To live in the Residence Halls, students must be matriculated CSU Monterey Bay students pursuing a degree. Each semester that students live on campus, they must be enrolled full-time. This translates to 12 units for undergraduates and at least 8 units for graduate students per semester. Meal preparation is essential. Residence halls surround the main area of the campus. Classrooms, the library, the Dining Commons, computer facilities, the Media Learning Complex, the Campus Health Center, the Otter Sports Center, and all administrative offices are all within walking distance.

 

First-Year Housing

 

Asilomar, Cypress,  Willet, Yarrow, and Manzanita Hall are all three-story structures with the same layout. All rooms feature private bathrooms and are suited for triple and double occupancy. A mailroom, a laundry room, and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and stove are all available in each building. 

 

Area Two

 

Three-story buildings with three different room styles are Avocet, Tortuga, and Sanderling Halls. Double, triple, or quadruple-occupancy rooms with private or communal bathrooms will be assigned to guests. On the first level, there is a mail space, a TV lounge, a laundry room, and a full kitchen and lounge.

North Quad

 

Suites in the North Quad are reserved for students in their second and third years of residence. All residents of the Strawberry Apartments, as well as the Vineyard and Pinnacles Suites on the North Quad, must be matriculated CSU Monterey Bay students pursuing a degree. Each semester that students live on campus, they must be enrolled full-time. This translates to 12 units for undergraduates and at least 8 units for graduate students per semester.

 

Strawberry Apartments

 

Single occupancy rooms are available in either a two-bedroom, one-bath or a four-bedroom, two-bath apartment configuration in North Quad. The mailroom, laundry room, living area, and shared kitchen are all common areas.

 

The Vineyard or Pinnacles Suites

 

Located in the North Quad, these rooms can accommodate single or double occupancy and come in two-bedroom, one-bathroom or four-bedroom, two-bathroom configurations. The main quad, classrooms, the library, the Dining Commons, computer facilities, the Media Learning Complex, the Campus Health Center, the Otter Sports Center, and all administrative offices are all within walking distance of these four-story suites. On the fourth level of the Vineyard Suites, there is a Health & Wellness programme.

Promontory

 

Promontory is for students who have completed 60 units or more. All Promontory Apartments residents must be matriculated CSU Monterey Bay students pursuing a degree. Each semester that students live on campus, they must be enrolled full-time. This translates to 12 units for undergraduates and at least 8 units for graduate students per semester. The Promontory has single and double-occupancy rooms, as well as apartment-style living with a washer and dryer in each unit.

East Campus Apartments

 

On Cal State Monterey Bay's East Campus, the Frederick Park Apartments are a student residential complex. Students with families, graduate students, and individuals 21 and older who have earned a minimum of 90 units are eligible to live in these flats. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments provide pleasant lodging as well as a short commute to university classes and activities. Cars, Monterey Salinas Transit buses, and bicycles are all options for residents.


All students wishing to live in the East Campus Apartments must be enrolled at CSU Monterey Bay and pursuing a degree. Each semester that students live on campus, they must be enrolled full-time. Undergraduates must take 12 units per semester, while graduate students must take at least 6 units. At various periods during their academic careers, students may be asked to present verification of enrolment.
