Placements

Before enrolling in a language course at Bradley University, students who studied a foreign language in high school or at another college or university must complete a placement test in that language. To get credit for language coursework, students must enroll for courses at the placement level or higher. To be eligible for the B. A. degree, students must complete WL 201 (third semester) (see Undergraduate Catalog for details).

To qualify for the B. A., students who test at the 202 level or higher must finish only one course at that level. Students may choose to take a course at a level higher than the listed placement level with the instructor's permission. Native and near-native speakers of the department's languages are placed individually based on their native language's level of linguistic proficiency.
