Binghamton University

A public research institution with campuses in Vestal, Johnson City, and Binghamton is known as Binghamton University (BU). Binghamton's position in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) rose dramatically from 901 to 1000 in 2019 to 501 to 600 in 2020. It shows that Binghamton has significantly improved in the key areas that determine the university ranking at ARWU—educational quality, faculty quality, and research output. Since 2018, QS (Top Universities) has maintained it in its global university rankings between 801 and 1000.
 

Since 2019, Times Higher Education (THE) has given it a ranking between 501 and 600. Additionally, Binghamton was placed 877th by US News & World Report in 2021, down 69 spots from its 808th-place finish from the previous year. US News has also ranked Binghamton among its list of top 100 colleges and universities in the country.

If we carefully examine Binghamton's course ranking, we can notice that it has consistently fallen in the business rankings throughout the years by various publishers. THE had Binghamton's ranking between 401 and 500 for the years 2019 and 2020, but now has it listed between 501 and 600 for 2021. Binghamton was ranked 76th by US News & World Report in 2018 and is currently listed between positions 99 and 131 for the year 2021. Additionally, Binghamton was ranked 116th in 2021 by US News in its UG Business ranking, up from 112th in 2020.
 

Binghamton's rating in the PG Engineering and Technology category has also been decreased by THE. The university was ranked between 176 and 200 in 2020, and between 201-250 in 2021. Since 2018, Binghamton University has maintained its position at 201-250 in THE's PG Computers ranking.
