  • Designated through the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB), the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts is a private post-secondary school that offers one-year diploma courses. With more than half of the student body being international students, Indian students are the second-highest in the population after Canadians.
  • British Columbia has awarded the school an Educational Quality Assurance (EQA) designation. It is called Van Arts in short. The famous award-winning American Animator and Director Lee Mishkin was its founding program director. Van Arts offers eight full-time programs for one year, including Acting for Film and Television, Animation (2D and 3D tracks), Broadcasting and Online Media, Game Arts and Design, Professional Photography, Visual Effects for Film and TV, Web Development, and Interactive Design.
  • The tuition fee for each course may amount to approximately 19,298 USD. Students are given one-on-one attention to have more concentration on their studies. International students will need to arrange their accommodation facilities privately as there is no on-campus residence. 
  • They can consider the homestay program through which they can also explore more about the place. For a student to live in the city, it may cost 891 USD-1475 USD. At Van Arts, industry nights are conducted so that students can interact with the recruiters of various companies to get an idea of their placement opportunities and the advancing need of the field. Required Documents

There is a nominal fee for the Student Authorization/Visa paid to Citizen and Immigration Canada. When you apply for your study permit, you will likely require the following for submission:

  • A letter of acceptance for your program of study from VanArts.
  • Evidence of financial support during your study period, i.e., a notarized letter, an affidavit from your bank or parents, or student loan documents.
  • Evidence of intentions to return to your country of origin after completing your studies.
  • Evidence of prepaid tuition fees, your tuition receipt, a certified cheque, or a bank draft payable to VanArts.
  • Proof of citizenship, i.e., passport or birth certificate.
