Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) - Main

A formal assessment (such as an ELP exam) is necessary for applicants who have not completed three years of full-time academic study in English.

Exam results are valid for two years from the date of the exam. The most recent English Language Proficiency results will be used to evaluate applicants.
Students entering an NAIT ESL programme should take the ESL Placement Exams. When applying to most NAIT programmes, they cannot be used to demonstrate English language proficiency.
Your most recent ELP assessment, the ESL Placement Exam, may still have an impact on your admission to other NAIT programmes.
Please consult an advisor before taking an ESL Placement Exam at NAIT if you already meet the ELP criteria for your programme.
